FLM0589 - Introdução ao Teatro (2024 - Mayumi)

The overall aim of  Introdução ao Teatro (FLM589) is to introduce students to the analysis of the theatrical text and its constituents, and to relate dramaturgy and staged performance.  In this core course we will study features of the bourgeois drama, the so called American Realism and the epic play, through the reading of four plays. Elements of the dramatic text and its performance will guide the studies in the learning of related historical and contextual transformations that took place throughout modern theatre. At the end of the semester, students should be able to identify and analyze structures of epic and dramatic plays, allowing their further exploring and research in modern drama.

Esta disciplina tem como objetivo introduzir e desenvolver expedientes de leitura e de análise do texto teatral e de sua relação com a encenação. A disciplina trabalha o texto dramático e seus elementos: ato e cena; rubricas e sua função; ação; conflito; clímax; desenlace; a personagem dramática, suas funções e formas de caracterização; espaço; tempo. Discute ainda a encenação de caráter realista e os elementos do texto e da encenação de base épica. A disciplina visa preparar o futuro professor para a leitura e interpretação de textos dramáticos em sala de aula, fornecendo um instrumental teórico e analítico, a fim de permitir uma compreensão mais consistente da dramaturgia e “carpintaria” teatral.
