In several engineering studies, computer simulations are necessary to predict the behavior of the electric power system. Software is used for this purpose that depends on the equations and parameters of the different models. For the results of these simulations to adequately represent the real behavior, it is necessary to estimate the parameters of the different models from measurements taken from the real system using a parameter estimation method. During the estimation process, the information contained in the measurement, the model structure and the estimation method used should be evaluated. In the end, the model is also validated using the estimated parameters.
