This is the synchronous (real time) communication tool that can be used to communicate with others in the class. When members of the class are ‘logged on’ at the same time, you can invite them to chat with you. Like the Forum area, the facilitator can also provide ‘closed’ or private chat rooms so groups may communicate synchronously while working on an assignment together. We can conduct office hours by chat so that participants and facilitators may talk together regarding course issues. The facilitator has access to all the chat room transcripts.
