The
goal of this course is to introduce the student to the concepts and techniques
of many-body quantum theory, putting an emphasis on condensed matter systems.
We will discuss current research topics in condensed matter such as strongly
correlated electron systems, nanostructures, superconductivity, topological
insulators, etc. The course is intended to initiate students in these topics
and to enlarge the horizons of those students with a background in Quantum
Field Theory and high-energy physics.
