This graduate course will introduce the main themes of global nuclear politics. It will provide students with a rounded view of the nuclear global order and explain conflicting perceptions of nonproliferation, nuclear disarmament, and nuclear security by different countries (e.g., nuclear-weapon states and nuclear-armed states vs. non-nuclear-weapon states, developed countries vs. developing countries). The course will also include a component devoted to Brazil’s nuclear policy.
