Objectives of the course are:
-to understand some principles of systems engineering and cybernetics applied to integrated design and analysis of ships and ocean platforms
-to build a ship design model based on first principles, including technical issues as well as aspects of the ship design process
In the present semester, a case study is conducted treating the design and analysis of planing hulls.
As for the ship design process, emphasis is placed on constructivism (after Piaget).
